Prettyboy D-O hits hard with new single “SHARP SHOOTER”

Hailing from Port Harcourt, Prettyboy D-O is the next major export from Nigeria. As a dual Nigerian /US Citizen, D-O was exposed to a global culture from a young age.
Drawing early inspiration from artists like Craig David, Fela Kuti, Travis Scott and Naeto C.

D-O dropped out to focus on music while studying Pre-Med at The University of Rochester. This was the
point where his parents decided to cut him off financially. D-O represents a very important figure in Nigerian youth culture; he’s the outlaw, the rebel with a cause.

As the son of a decorated Nigerian military man, he understands the traditions and way of life of back
home, but he chooses to fight for a generation of African Youth to feel free to express themselves and tell
their own stories.

His new track “SHARP SHOOTER” transcends mere song status; it’s a vibrant anthem to resilience and determination. Through its lyrics, Prettyboy D-O delves into the depths of his heritage, referencing the struggles of his ancestors while asserting his own identity in a world marked by diversity and challenges.

Through piercing verses, he expresses the quest for preservation in a landscape where challenges and temptations abound. Evoking his father’s heritage from plantations, he denounces the scars of slavery while affirming his own power and independence.

Prettyboy D-O staunchly defends his position, asserting his ability to end the seasons of those who dare to defy him, while rejecting violence and unnecessary conflicts, akin to a vegetarian in a carnivorous world.

The song also touches upon bonds of camaraderie and solidarity, where energy and mutual support are paramount. It underscores the need to stay true to oneself and one’s values, even amidst intense social pressure or external influences.

In a dynamic blend of cultures and styles, “SHARP SHOOTER” embodies Prettyboy D-O’s authentic and powerful voice, an artist whose music transcends borders and inspires a new generation to take a stand and face challenges with courage and determination.
