Chilean talents Francisco Allendes and Pablo Inzunza combine once again this April as they deliver their ‘Promethea’ EP on VIVa MUSiC.
With releases on the likes of Deeperfect, Kaluki Musik and Do Not Sleep in the latter half of 2017 alone, it’s hard to ignore Francisco Allendes’ rise as one of South America’s most exciting names in electronic music. After personally tipping emerging talent and fellow countryman Pablo Inzunza as the next big thing from Chile, and previously combining for their ‘Super 8’ EP on Desolat last year, gaining support from the likes of Hector Couto, Paco Osuna, Dubfire, and most notably Carl Cox who featured ‘Ripples’ in his 2017 Essential Mix, here we see Allendes and Inzunza unite once again to deliver a dynamic four tracker entitled ‘Promethea’.
Title track ‘Promethea’ opens proceedings with authority, as the duo combine jacking drums and shimmering hats with a driving low end groove and wicked 303 licks, before ‘Countdown’ takes up a more percussive aesthetic, with a series of vibrant snare rolls, intermittent vocal calls and organic drum shots raising the tempo.
On the flip, ‘Balanced Amplitude’ utilises a combination of acid tinged lead lines and resonant claps to keep the energy levels high, before unveiling ‘Eve One’, a drum focused workout typical of the two Chilean’s style that fuses together an infectious combination of bright and echoed out vocals over a bumping bassline and metallic tones to round out the EP in lively fashion.
Francisco Allendes & Pablo Inzunza ‘Promethea’ EP is out on VIVa MUSiC on 25th May 2018.
