Nicky Romero - PRTCL

Nicky Romero proves yet again why he's earned a reputation as one of the most influential DJs and producers of his time with his newest track, aptly titled "PRTCL" in honor of his imprint Protocol Recordings' 100th release. "PRTCL" finds Nicky returning to the high-energy groove sound that made him a household name early in his career on tracks like "SOTU" and "Camorra." Mr. Romero teamed up with Spyder – known from "Waterman" and "Like Dis" with Olav Basoski- for the track, which was premiered as an ID during 2017's final episode of Protocol Radio. With its cinematic melodies and bouncing basslines "PRTCL" feels iconic and timeless, a salute to electronic music's heyday as well as a nod to its promising future. Both, Protocol Recordings and Nicky Romero have helped to shape the landscape of electronic dance music as we know it with their cutting-edge approach to sound and their focus on cultivating a diverse talent pool.

Protocol Recordings has become synonymous with forward-thinking, dynamic electronic music since its creation in 2012 by Nicky Romero and has seen immense success with both established and emerging artists. Last year Protocol celebrated its fifth birthday with a series of new music and celebrations that culminated in their massive annual showcase at the Amsterdam Dance Event. Their first five years have been starred with now-classic tracks, such as Calvin Harris & Nicky Romero's "Iron," NERVO & Nicky Romero's "Like Home," Stadiumx "Howl At The Moon" and Tommy Trash's "HEX," forever solidifying Protocol as one of the most renowned electronic labels in the world. Protocol's focus on developing up-and-coming artists has garnered them a roster of incredible talent, from veterans like Tom Tyger, Raiden and Florian Picasso to new discoveries like Maximals, Sam Void and more. Between their ever-evolving imprint, captivating stage presence, and consistently incredible, cutting-edge new music, it's safe to say that Protocol has more than earned their spot at the top. If their 100th release "PRTCL" is any indication, this is only the beginning of the Protocol Recordings legacy, and to a very exciting 2018!
