Black Girl / White Girl continue to turn heads with their new EP on SOUP NYC, Pulse X. Turning the heads of Green Velvet, Jamie Jones, and Hector Couto, Black Girl / White Girl is one of the most hotly tipped DJ/production duos to come onto the scene.
Their authentic sound successfully blurs the lines of tripped-out house and techno, an irresistible combo custom made for sending dance floors into a frenzy. Previously releasing on storied imprints like Relief, Roush, and Resonance, here they make their SOUP NYC debut with Pulse X EP: three original cuts backed up with stellar remixes from Supernova and Joe Pompeo.
Kicking off the EP, ‘The Great Space Chase’ is an exemplary house cut: all twisted, whirling synths and driving percussion with a huge, hooky lead that burrows its way into your brain. ‘Sugar Bomb’ continues in the same tripped out house vein, and comes complete with a remix from Italian duo Supernova who transform it into a jackin’ house bomb.
Completing the package are two version of ‘1968’: the deep, dark, seething original and Joe Pompeo’s remix which strips things back to basics, giving it a raw, elemental power.
