Quicche Uncovers Bold, Genre-Defying Debut Album on R&S Records

Following a string of breakout singles, German singer, songwriter, and composer Marc Grünhäuser, known as Quicche, is ready to drop his highly anticipated debut album Frisia on the iconic R&S Records. The album blends tender vocals, subtle electronics, and bold indie-folk, marking a transformative moment in Quicche’s career.

Retreating to a secluded house in Northern Germany, he spent a month in isolation, writing, recording, and producing the album with minimal outside contact and limited equipment. This self-imposed solitude allowed him to focus purely on creating music for himself, not for an audience. The result is an album that’s raw, emotional, and unfiltered, an unflinching exploration of personal turmoil and the weight of familial expectations.

The title track Frisia emerged during a period of profound self-doubt, when Quicche questioned his place in music. In the quiet isolation of East Frisia, he confronted feelings of grief, shame, and anger, which poured into the music, creating a cathartic yet deeply relatable experience. Describing the sound as a genre-blurring mix of folk, indie, ambient, electro, and R&B, he embraces its fluidity where “avant-garde meets pop. A true masterpiece.

Ahead of the album, his recent single “Red Eyes” continues the momentum from previous releases like Cyan II, White Teeth, and TAGIOG (Sept 2024), which first introduced Quicche to global audiences. All have received widespread acclaim from fans, media, and streaming platforms worldwide. The creative process for Frisia was intensely personal and introspective.

Frisia is set for release on April 11th 2025, and stands as a soaring testament to the power of music and its ability to be deeply personal, boundary-pushing, and endlessly captivating.
