Radical Artist Falling Felon Brings Cinematic Flair To Berlin’s Electronic Scene with Self-Titled Debut Album
The story of Falling Felon is fitting for the filmmaker behind the project as the duo’s chance meeting is like something out of a movie. Whether happenstance or fate, a woman – Apaig Lombé – dressed colourfully against the drab backdrop of the Berlin metro caught the attention of musician, photographer, and director Brieuc Le Meur. Six months on and they had finished their first album together. Self-titled as Falling Felon, the 10-track alternative pop, song writing project is set for release 01/03/22.
Lead single I Just Do the Falling sets the tone for this piece quite like no other. Synths breathe in and out as electronic trills punctuate the track’s beat. This ambient and atmospheric soundscape provides the perfect backdrop for Lombé’s impassioned vocals. Ditching contemporary trends, Apaig draws on the experiences of her Zambian childhood in Lusaka with a powerful spoken word style of delivery. Pair this with a mix of Berlin electronics and a hypersensitive French touch and you get the unique mix that makes Falling Felon so special.
Falling Felon is only the latest project from the ever-busy Brieuc Le Meur. A prolific creative in the dynamic Berlin scene, Le Meur’s credits span the likes of the 90s/00s two biggest underground Parisian techno collectives – Impakt-Technocrates and Heretik System, the avant-garde, feature films, photography, and literature. Having lived and breathed the alternative electronic scenes in Berlin, Paris, and Tokyo (when not shaping them), Brieuc is an embodiment of the spirit of the movements. This spirit lives in on the dynamic and surprisingly sensitive Falling Felon.
With two musical masters elevating each other at every turn, Falling Felon is a treat for music fans who love high quality and unique music with a strong emotional core.
Audiences can look forward to hearing Falling Felon on all platforms 01/03/22.
