With releases lined up already on the likes of Defected, Toolroom and AC Slater’s Party Like Us imprint, Rain City Riot is a name you’ll be hearing much, much more from over the coming months. Hailing from London by way of Berlin, RCR drops his very first EP release on his own Rain Maker record label, straddling underground house and garage with aplomb, this one’s ready to kick down club doors near you very soon.
Kicking off with the surefire party piece ‘Dim’, Rain City Riot shows what he’s made of cutting up old school vocals before we’re told to ‘dim the lights’. Then you’d better stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen as the b-line bounces in to take us away for this heavy dance floor anthem in the making. Get down on it!
Moving on and ‘Your Clothes’ follows on in a similar vein but slightly more subdued with a way cool garage riff that rolls over electro undertones throughout for a ride into Rain City Riot’s more seedy underbelly. Naughty! Finally ‘Waiting For Me’ takes us to Berlin, hitting with waves of warm electro and 80’s synths perfect for fahr’n fahr’n fahr’n auf der autobahn!
