Katja - Rave

Avotre is one of the day’s most essential house labels. It releases a tough brand of no nonsense club tackle all under the watchful eye of label boss Sante. For their next trick they now look to KATJA for two hot originals that get remixed by Luca Donzelli and Mark Jenkyns respectively.

KATJA has played a number of high profile AVOTRE label parties and now serves up the same forceful grooves that made her such a hit at those events. R.A.V.E is first and is an acid laced monster with hulking great kicks and stern hi hats that really will have you cutting shapes. Luca Donzelli then remixes it into something with a little more swing and cadence in the grooves, as well as some spooky female vocals. A second remix comes from Mark Jenkyns and reworks the track into something more icy and subtle that makes for a nice creepy atmosphere. Last of all, Overtures is the meatiest of the lot, with rock solid kicks smashing out a beat as bell sounds and whining machines get freaky up top. This is pure dancing music designed for DJs who like to work their crowds into a sweat. As such it is another winning release for this fine label.
