After another year filled with high quality sounds, Moon Harbour serve up one more fine release for 2020, this time from long time label friend Marius Maier aka Re.You.
After more than a decade at the forefront of underground electronic music, Re.You put all his vast experience into a long-awaited debut album earlier in the year on Connected. ‘Maison’ showed the artist’s widescreen appreciation for all forms of house and followed plenty of superb EPs on this label as well as Kompakt and Mobilee. After many years in the game, he continues to cook up irresistible club sounds inspired by the world around him.
This latest house missive ‘The Night We Met’ is a brilliantly absorbing and steamy one. Warm bass swings way down below a mysterious lead synth that rings out across a sleepy city in the dead of night. Superbly soulful female vocals add an aching emotion and wispy pads and melodies shine like twinkling stars while the rubbery kicks make for a smooth and seductive groove.
This is exactly the sort of heart felt and comforting house tune we all need in our lives right now.
