re:abel is a project from Melbourne newcomer Ryan Gasparini who is crafting a unique blend of Future/UK Garage music which can be likened to a mix between Jacques Greene, Overmono and NOTION.
In January 2024, Ryan gave us an impeccable ep titled “Otherside” which ventured into all new territories of sound design and exploration, and was received with much praise and attention from music fans and curators across the globe.
He’s coming back to us this week with promise of another ep in the works, and this week he’s giving us the first preview of what we can expect with new single ‘Flying Colours’.
“With ‘Flying Colours’, I wanted to create a track where the build and release really felt like something was really being created and then destroyed – with the synths, arpeggios and drums all building and working together before crumbling down and giving way to a deep, rumbling bassline, then building itself back up once again. Building further upon the atmospheric nature of my past releases, but taking it in a more functional direction, I wanted to push myself to create a track that paid homage to all my biggest influences while also feeling fresh and new in itself.” ~ re:abel
