Jose Vizcaino - Recoding Desires EP

The 9th EP from Manjumasi comes from San Francisco talent Jose Vizcaino. A producer with plenty of releases to his name, the Recoding Desires EP offers a beautiful medley of sensual and cerebral tracks.

The title tune draws you right in – it is mysterious and lush, built around a strong pad hook with gentle vocal effects. “Tough Placement” follows up with an absolutely hypnotic groove, trippy and mesmerizing arpeggios layered throughout. The third original is “Clever Moves,” a proper deep house stomper that showcases Jose’s understanding of the dance floor and his taste for a proper kick-and-bass groove. The first remix comes from legendary Barcelona producer Pablo Bolivar.

His remake of Recoding Desires is simply irresistible, massaging the track’s theme into an even deeper form, with percussive synth stabs and shuffly percussion pushing the sex appeal of this raw groove to the next level. Last up is a killer remix from London stalwart Jay Shepheard, who turns in a lovely late-night version of Tough Placement. His stripped-down interpretation highlights a trippy and techy sensibility, with a stabby acid riff weaving its way over a delectable bedrock of rhythm and pads.
