It’s been a busy year for Red Bull Studios and December appears no different. As well as collaborating with bigger artists such as Jessie Ware over a longer period of time, the Studio continues to nurture and develop brand new artists, acting as an incubator of talent and a barometer of musical taste.
Today we bring you London-based label Stripes records, one of the UK’s premier emerging underground labels, who were last week invited to record a four track EP. Label boss and founder ‘Stanza’ bought with him four of the most exciting artists from the label’s diverse roster; Kinzy, Spoils, Monkey Wrench and Capsun, each of whom laid down a track, producing an EP at lightning speed. Stripes records have had 10 releases this year already via an impressive roster of emerging artists including Bill & Will, CAPSUN, Kinzy, Monkey Wrench, Mystry, Spoils, Sukh Knight and Taiki Nulight. The EP is already receiving spins on Radio 1 from Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens who are big fans of the label.
To celebrate the release, the four artists will be celebrating with a launch party at Big Chill House this Thursday 4th December with free entry. The line up so far includes: Kinzy, Spoils, Monkey Wrench, Capsun, Chunky, Bill & Will, DJ Barely Legal back to back with Chimpo, True Tiger and Big Narstie, and Mystry, plus special guests.
This is a label to watch for 2015.
