Norwegian nu-disco prodigy Cavego prepares to be launched into the spotlight with the release of his new collaboration with Australian singer / songwriter, Arielle. Released on 31st March via Finland’s on trend label, Youth Control, ‘Red Light’ is a sublime slice of nu-disco heaven set to bring the first rays of summer into 2017. The insanely catchy original is supported by top quality remixes from Ridney and Koobra with the package already clocking up tastemaker support from Thomas Gold, Roger Sanchez, Cedric Gervais, Riva Starr, Vanilla Ace, Felix Da Housecat, Chus & Ceballos and more.
Cavego is already a name to watch in Scandinavia, hailing from Bergen, the city that gave the world such highly acclaimed artists as Kygo and Røyksopp. Inspired by 70’s disco, a vibe he’s tried to capture in his music, Cavego’s early productions were snapped up by influential labels including, Eskimo, Spinnin’ and Ultra, while DJ support has come from the likes of Bakermat, Satin Jackets, Sam Feldt, Lost Kings and many more.
Arielle is one of Australia’s rising stars. Already a respected songwriter working with a wide range of artists, her focus has turned to electronic music, with ‘Red Light’ one of a number of dance tracks she’s involved with for 2017. She was inspired as soon as she heard Cavego’s production, saying:
“The first time I heard the track, I wrote pretty much the whole topline on the go. I had my phone recorder on and sang all of the melody and a lot of the lyrics. I love it when that happens!”
Remixes on the release come from UK producer, Ridney, who turns in a chugging house groove with plenty of funky goodness, showing why he has won the Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1 three times so far.
Finnish producer, Koobra also delivers a stylish disco house remix, keeping the hooks and catchiest elements of the original while adding his own flavour.
‘Red Light’ by Cavega marks yet another quality release from Youth Control, a Finnish label who continue to turn heads on the global stage. 2017 is set to be a big year for all involved in this project.
