Yesterdays's Free Music Monday (ok ok, we were a bit last posting it) is from 21-year-old St. Lucian born DJ & producer Poté. Influenced by a blend of Soca and Kuduro sounds with tribal drum twists and sliced vocals, he was chosen for a BBC Maida Vale's 'Freshman of 2016' session at the end of last year. We have this carnival-laced track to give to you today and it's great…” – Annie Mac
About Poté:
2015 saw Poté release his debut EP for Enchufada and put out recent ’Oryx’ EP for free, earning recognition and numerous plays across BBC Radio 1,1Xtra and Triple J, with tastemakers Annie Mac, Toddla T, Mista Jam, Phil Taggart and Nina Las Vegas all supporting the EP tracks. Top-tier DJs Artwork, Breakage, Buraka Som Sistema’s Branko, Scratch Perverts, B.Traits & Monki have also been vocal in their support for Poté’s music over the last 12 months.
Now with an official remix of Lethal Bizzle's recent chart hit 'Playground’ ft. Shakka also under his belt and a BBC Maida Vale session in October, Poté is set to start 2016 as a producer to keep a firm eye on.
