First discovered by Andrew Weatherall in 2012, releasing his first EP ‘Brunswick Drive’ on Weatherall’s Bird Scarer label, George Thompson, AKA Black Merlin, has since released on World Unknown, Crimes of the Future, LN-CC, New Jersey, Common Thread and SORN. Earlier in 2016 he released his debut album ‘Hipnotik Tradisi’ on Island of The Gods, an album that came about when he was asked to travel over to Indonesia to Record traditional Gamelan music, which he put together from the Field Recordings he’d gathered. The album was originally released on hard copy only and soon sold out.
For his first release on Omnidsic, Black Merlin delivers a dark and sinister two-track ep, perfect for the ‘raw’ ethos of Danny Daze’s emerging imprint, on which he joins artists like Cliff Lothar, Drvg Cvltvre, DJ Tennis, Roe Deers, David Vunk, Dean Grenier and Schmutz.
‘Resistance’ is intense relentless techno perfect for the darkest of dancefloors to get lost in.
‘Circuits’ is slow and slightly ominous with suggested messages through low end frequencies.
'Resistance' EP is limited to 300 units. Check it on soundcloud here
