Danse Club Records keep up a fine 2015 schedule with another great EP, this time from Dutch tech house titan Lauhaus complete with a fine remix from Hans Thalau.
Lauhaus has associated with this label before, as well as with the likes of Area Remote, Intacto, Soweso and many others. He is a master of infectious, loopy forms and proves that once again here with three super tight originals.
Opening up what is another compelling EP is ‘Tabarca,’ a deep, dubbed out and cavernous cut with smeared, grainy chords setting an insular mood before perfectly functional drums get you shaking your behind. Stripped back and perfectly economical, this is a high class basement track, and no mistake.
The brilliantly tough boom bap of ‘Unconditional’ then hits a fine stride from the off. Cool as you like hi hats glide above rubbery kicks and menacing synths get busy in the midst of the groove. A female vocal emerges to add some diva fire and essential bits of colour seep in from the soft rave stabs. This one is sure to ignite any dance floor. ‘Dominia’ is Lauhaus’s last original and is another expertly crafted, heads down back-room groover with watery chords, soft tumbling toms and airy hi hats that add perfect height to the track. Pure dancing bait from start to finish, it is another killer cut.
Hans Thalaus is another assured talent with credits on Fresh Meat and Thal Communications and here turns out a fine and fresh remix. His version is kinetic and tightly coiled, with feather snares and bobbing drums again getting you moving with ease. Great vocal samples add another lush layer and complete an irresistibly deep house roller.
Once again Brodanse’s on point Danse Club label has cooked up a record that is sure to keep dance floors at full tilt.
