roBOt Festival accelerates with 10 new names

After having announced its first guests – Ben UFO, Clark, Evian Christ, Levon Vincent, Nathan Fake, Nina Kraviz, Powell, Sherwood & Pinch, Squarepusher, Trentemoller and Apparat, the protagonist of the concert preview at Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Sunday, September 20st), roBOt Festival reveals ten new names, scheduled from the 7th to the 10th of October, in Palazzo Re Enzo and in the Bologna Fair.

The second launch includes four Italian previews such as the première of the American Holly Herndon, an experienced artist, full of flavor and passion, a true rising star of the electronic scene, who comes to roBOt with a music full of surprises, visions, tricky geometries and crystal architectures.

The second première will be the brand new live by the Canadian Tiga, an artist who has mastered every secret of the dancefloor, the encyclopedic knowledge of everything that is techno, electro and house.

The third première will be the project presented by the Australian Lawrence English, one of the most exciting minds you’ll ever meet in the field of digital arts. A vast discography, an even vaster collection of installations and performances; but above all, an inexhaustible desire to impress, to wrap, to accelerate the sensitivity of perception. Last but not least the final première will be by Jackmaster, one of the ace djs of the last decades, with an innate talent for mixing house, rare groove, techno and soul. He will play alongsode Ben Ufo in a back to back set on national preview.

The eighth edition of roBOt Festival welcomes Jets, the American duo consisting of Jimmy Edgar and Travis Stewart, two absolute champions of electronic music. They initially partnered for fun but eventually appeared and reappeared for some years as a small, explosive mirage that involves and excites everyone. Also Seven JR Davis comes all the way from US and is a true talent, tirelessly and uncompromisingly pursuing the future of soul through electro, techno and cultivated experimentations.

This second group of names includes two Italian artists: Clap! Clap! one of the many monikers of Cristiano Crisci, a brilliant, sophisticated and creative artist. After the release of the afro-digital masterpiece “Tayi Bebba” everyone talks about him from England to Japan as an absolute rising star. The second Italian is Lory D, presented by Red Bull Music Academy. A psychedelic artist and a genius, able to bring techno and electro to new territories, where it is easy to indulge body and soul.

The RBMA faction expands with two other new names. the first is one the most amazing djs ever emerged by the club culture over the past twenty years, the Spaniard Oriol Riverola alias John Talabot: dreamy, Balearic, airy, someone that doesn’t hold back when it comes to trapping his public in techno architectures and deep “mental” house. With the English Lee Gamble on stage we will be exploring more abstract, profound and essential territories. A jungle heart, a mind between techno and abstraction, a love for experimentation and the most hidden corners.
