London based producer, singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Elderbrook has put his own inventive twist on Clean Bandit’s #1 hit single ‘Rockabye’ ft. Sean Paul and Anne-Marie.
A minimalistic yet atmospheric take on the original, Elderbrook uses chopped vocal samples from Sean Paul and Anne-Marie to create melodies over sultry bass notes, clicks and echoing strings samples. Dusty noise and rattling cymbals add texture to the dancehall-influenced rhythm for a truly original reimagining of the track.
This version of ‘Rockabye’ looks set to further cement Elderbrook’s status as an artist to watch, closing out a busy year for the young artist. He recently performed a sold out headline show at brand new London Bridge hotspot Omeara, following international tours alongside the likes of RÜFÜS DÜ SOL and Gorgon City.
Next year, Elderbrook will be performing his next headline show at XOYO in London on 30th March. Tickets are now on sale.
About Elderbrook
Elderbrook first came to widespread attention with his debut Black Butter EP, ‘Simmer Down’. The first track ‘Could’ has been streamed over 3.5 million times on Spotify, whilst collaboration with well known German duo Andhim ‘How Many Times’ became a genuine underground anthem, hitting #1 on HypeMachine. Follow-up ‘Closer’ was another success, receiving huge remixes from Eats Everything, Siege and George Kwali. With a brand new EP project due out at the start of next year, as well as a headline show at tastemaking venue XOYO in March, 2017 looks set to continue his successful trajectory.
