Roger Sanchez Drops ‘Black Rain’ Remix of Betoko ‘Raining Again’

The Remix Release Follows An Exclusive NFT Drop on March 17 in Partnership with twelve X twelve

Established in 2010, Berlin-based record label Embassy One has long served as a leading imprint for electronic music and its evolution. Led by its devotion to authenticity and progression – consistently pushing the envelop with a consistent stream of forward-thinking output – the label recently announced a collaboration with Music NFT marketplace twelve x twelve, to launch a series of remixes, inviting some of the biggest artists in the industry to re-imagine some of electronic music’s most iconic records.

Haivng kicked off with an exclusive and limited NFT (Digital Vinyl) drop on March 17, Embassy One now gives wider audiences the chance to get in on the action, as it releases Roger Sanchez’s ‘Black Rain’ Remix across all streaming platforms.

Making his long-awaited Embassy One label debut, the Grammy Award winning Dominican-American power player offers a contemporary rework of the iconic cut that’s teeming with Sanchez sensibilities. Upping the tempo, he employs an abundance of crisp percussive elements to create that momentous drive we’ve come to know and love from his vast catalogue of productions. Moving away from the original’s vintage affection, we’re introduced to a darker identity that’s founded on hard-hitting synths, rises and groove-inducing drops. Made with only the dancefloor in mind, the remix is a brooding slice of tech house bliss that provides a paradoxical listening experience to Betoko’s counterpart.

Having amassed over 13 million streams on Spotify alone since its release on Solomun’s Diynamic imprint in 2012, Betoko’s Raining Again has become an iconic anthem within the dance music community. Proving commonplace amongst the touring playlists of almost every notable House DJ over the past decade, Betoko’s original was labeled ‘Track Of The Summer’ in 2012 and has since gone on to achieve over 100 million hits worldwide, across all platforms.

Having won a Grammy for his remix of Hella Good by No Doubt in 2003, Roger Sanchez is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential house artists, with internationally celebrated releases on the likes of Strictly Rhythm, One Records, Defected and Ministry of Sound, over the course of his thirty-year career. From humble beginnings crate digging in New York City to dominating the main stages of the biggest dance music events on the planet, Sanchez’s work is woven into the very fabric of dance music as he continues to build a discography that only grows to hold more future classics.
