Ron Costa Debuts on There Is A Light with ‘Sides’ EP

In January 2021, American DJ, producer and label boss The Archer celebrated the launch of his new house and techno imprint There Is A Light with the release of his impressive three-part EP, Lonely Dream. Enjoying widespread critical acclaim and hefty international support from esteemed selectors including Sian, Rebūke, Matt Sassari and Drunken Kong (to name a few), The Archer had successfully inaugurated his mission to build a catalogue that explores the boundaries of four-four music and develops the more avant-garde manifestations of house and techno music.

Almost four months on from TIAL’s debut offering, and with Lonely Dream still making serious waves across sound systems and dance floors the world over, The Archer now announces the eagerly-anticipated sophomore release on his burgeoning LA-based imprint, as he taps iconic French stalwart Ron Costa for his exciting label debut – Sides EP.

With a plethora of huge releases on the likes of Sola, Noir, Octopus Recordings and Deeperfect over the course of his decade-long career, Ron Costa’s TIAL debut delivers everything we’ve come to expect and more from the in-form, Parisian producer, who ignites the double-sided cut with a dancefloor weapon brimming with warped basslines, punchy rhythms and exquisitely layered trippy vocal hooks. Speaking about the upcoming release, Ron Costa commented:

“The idea and concept behind Sides was to explore several genres that I’ve been influenced by over the course of my career, from house through to techno and various other electronic grooves. Singular and heady, it reveals abstracted techno explorations through a domain of elemental palimpsests where percussion is neither atonal nor prosaic.” – Ron Costa

On the flip, Costa hands the reigns to fellow Frenchman, The Reactivitz, to provide his unique interpretation of the emphatic opener. Offering up a veritable masterclass in dynamic, underground techno, the remix pulsates with dark warehouse energy across its duration, as the Lyonnais producer and Immersion label-boss wraps a remarkable second EP on There Is A Light.
