Rony Rex Returns to Youth Control Records With ‘True Religion’

Showing absolutely no sign of taking his foot off the gas, Helsinki’s Rony Rex strides back to the fore with another head-turning, bass-centric club heater on independent Finnish dance imprint, Youth Control. Following the well-received arrival of ‘Limbo’ featuring US lyricist Dances With White Girls, Rony is back to deliver another undeniably potent club weapon in ‘True Religion’. Download/stream it from 18th August via: https://ingrv.es/true-religion-cgy-f

A record that will instantly pique the eardrums of anyone with a penchant for catchy vocal hooks, creative arrangement and attitude-laden musicality, ‘True Religion’ ticks all the boxes to become a discernible club and radio hit. Showcasing the depths of Rony’s ever-expansive creativity, it has a little bit of everything from differing rhythmic phases to keep you guessing – ranging from house to breakbeat – and lyrics you’ll find yourself repeating at all hours of the day to full-bodied bassline grooves, flagrant synth progressions and creative sampling flare.

Rony Rex, who first cut his teeth as a dynamic DJ, is now an established, innovative producer on the world stage. As one of Finland’s hottest tastemakers hosting a show on the influential station YLEX (the Finnish BBC 1 equivalent), his style oozes with bubbly, quirky and housey influences, is heavily club focused, and can’t help but flirt with pop and indie soundscapes.

A catalogue of successful and off-the-wall releases sits under Rony’s belt on labels such as Youth Control and Needwant. ‘Milk It’ featuring hit songwriter Carla Monroe was a hit on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, playlisted on Diplo’s Revolution on SiriusXM and had massive sync success with brands including Yves Saint Laurent, Nickelodeon and O2. ‘Mona Lisa’ was another sync hit with Stella McCartney, while ‘Fucked It Up’ (Gas Gas Remix) was huge in China, with over 80 million streams via the nation’s Netease streaming platform.

Youth Control is one of Finland’s leading indie dance music labels. It is a real breeding ground for new talent and a home to big names like Roisto, Disco Despair, Per2, founders TJH87 and Terminé. It is also a publisher and party brand that has turned the heads of tastemakers like Armand Van Helden, Steve Aoki and Todd Edwards, plus BBC Radio 1, Billboard and Kiss FM. This is the latest in a hot run of new singles that have reached new highs for Youth Control.
