Rough Trade Shops Field Day 14

Field Day and Rough Trade Shops have much in common when it comes to supporting and promoting new and exciting music. After the success of last year’s compilation, Rough Trade and Field Day are combining their many years of experience again to release their second collaborative CD, out on May 12th.

“Its great to be able to take Field Day home with you in the form of a double CD, either it will conjure memories of a great day of music, feasting and ale drinking in London’s Victoria Park, OR you could just discover new sounds to seek out on the day…. All in all it’s an honour to work with Rough Trade Shops again and put together a compilation of great music.”  Tom Baker, Field Day founder

The compilation reflects the wide spectrum of genres and acts on this years’ eclectic line up. It includes tracks from headliners PIXIES and Metronomy, hot new bands like Austrian based SOHN, South-African band John Wizards, “Helsinki’s own Ariel Pink” Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Melbourne singer/songwriter Courtney Barnett, established artists like iconic 80s legend Neneh Cherrry, psychedelic-voyagers The Horrors, LA four piece Warpaint, Field Day alumni Blood Orange and Australian dance/ psychedelic duo Jagwar Ma, world acts Seun Kuti & Fela’s Egypt 80 and Syrian wedding-singer-turned-dance music-idol Omar Souleyman as well as dance institutions SBTRKT, Simian Mobile Disco and Todd Terje…and many more.

“As ever, the Field Day team have put together a hugely exciting, varied, enthralling and original event for the weekend and Rough Trade is proud to continue our on-going relationship in the form of this double CD selection, cherry-picked from the festival line-up by Tom Baker himself.” Rough Trade
