Hailing from Saigon, Vietnam, music producer/DJ Runa Mont releases debut EP ‘The Eternal Portal,’ a coming-of-age EP released via SYS Sister Sounds Label.
The 4-track EP sees Runa delve into IDM, Electronic, Ambient and Experimental music. ‘The Eternal Portal’ is the artist transcending the virtual world into the modern day world by effortlessly fusing fantasies and real-life together within her music.
On her EP, Runa said, “In acknowledging the weight of family trauma through my music, I hope we can find solace in the fact that we are not alone in our journey of healing and growth. Together, we can support one another, foster resilience, and work towards finding peace amidst the pain,”
“As I ventured deeper into this golden utopia, a symphony of sounds enveloped my senses, adding another layer of enchantment to the experience. This EP’s soundscape is a tapestry of melodic tones, soft hums, and gentle whispers, creating a harmonious symphony that resonate with the atmosphere,”
Runa’s music is a slice of utopia with the single ‘Parallel Resonance Experiment’ showcasing her experience of having her first lucid dream and texturising a high-tech world with science fiction allure, ‘Next Evo’ is about moving forward and gaining a sense of confidence and resilience after tragedy. ‘The Eternal Portal’ as a whole explores themes of family trauma and healing.
Through her music, Runa brings listeners into a unique and stimulating experience that transcends traditional boundaries of genres and styles.
The artist excels at creating dream-like soundscapes transporting listeners to alternate realms of sensory exploration.
