Russian newcomer jjtsu has made his debut with ‘Beach’ out now via Dirtybird Records.
For his Dirtybird inauguration, jjtsu has delivered a vibrant, fast-paced groover that harnesses the spirited energy of Chicago and Detroit’s jackin’ house styles. ‘Beach’ thrives on rambunctiousness, building around a rhythmic loop of zany bleeps and blips over its near five minutes. Befitting the Dirtybird ethos, ‘Beach’ is a quirky minimal mover that will have the flock shaking their tail feathers.
The music lover from the suburbs of St. Petersburg took his first steps in music production using the Music 2000 aka MTV Music Generator software on Playstation One, recording “tracks” with his brother onto cassettes. While growing up, he attended a music school, studying the accordion. From 2004 to 2007, he traveled across Europe and neighboring countries as part of an orchestra. At the same time, he became fascinated with pumping house and Russian hardbass, attempting to recreate it with his friends. Around 2007-2008, he heard Claude VonStroke’s ‘Who’s Afraid of Detroit’, which had a significant influence on him. From that moment on, he began to explore house and techno sounds, which eventually led him to Dirtybird.
jjtsu invites the flock to stream his debut single ‘Beach’ out now on all platforms.
