Emerging from the vibrant East End club scene before taking up residence at Egg, Sabajaq returns on February 27th for its first edition of 2016.
The brainchild of Jim Warboy, the creative force behind such parties as Night Train, Caligula, Heroes and All You Can Eat, the party has become known for mixing the biggest international names in house and techno with London's most cutting edge DJs, performers and dancers.
February welcomes two extended three-hour sets from the main headliners, Pig&Dan and Pleasurekraft.
Despite coming from the tiny Spanish island of Mallorca, Pig&Dan have toured the world with their powerful techno and tech-house sound – something which led to the likes of Inner City and Underworld clamouring for their remix touch. Since the launch of their own Elevate label the duo's accent to the top of their sound has been assured, stopping off along the way to share their arsenal of tunes with the likes of Bedrock and Monika Kruse's Terminal M.
Another twosome, this time hailing from Sweden and America, Pleasurekraft rocketed to house fame off the back off 2010's bouncy, vocodered 'Tarantula'. Since then they've scored numerous hits, from their massive remix of Cajmere's 'Satisfy' (produced alongside Tiger Stripes) to a similarly ubiquitous edit of Josh Butler's 'Got A Feeling'.
Joining Pig&Dan in the Audiotelic Room is Paride Saraceni, the 24-year-old London-based rising star who has already found a home on Christian Smith's Tronic label. He kicks off 2016 with another seal of approval from on high, releasing on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul. Alongside him is Brazilian Vinicius Honorio, also known as d&b producer BTK. Having returned to his first loves of house and techno, he's already notched up tracks with Elevate, Dubspeeka’s Skeleton, Fine Audio and Harthouse. They're joined by Egg resident Kyle E and Rödor.
In the Save Our Souls room, Pleasurekraft are joined by ZDS, aka Nat Self. From his earliest releases on Claude VonStroke's dirtybird to being asked to re-edit the back catalogue of Luke Solomon/Derrick Carter's Classic Records, Nat's productions have been in constant demand. His next release, the 'Want Silver' EP, is a collaboration with Doorly forthcoming on Davide Squillace's This & That label. Further support comes from Warboy and Sabajaq resident Joe Roberts.
Maintaining the main room visual drama are Benjamin Milan, choreographer and dancer for the Mercury-nominated FKA Twigs, and IMMA/MESS, whose vocals featured on Hannah Holland's recent EP for Classic Records.
NOEXCUSE host room three, with Emery Warman, Chriss Ronson, Ambos&Profound, Metaphizix, GuyMac & Matty Gray and Jordan Matin.
Sol Invictus takeover the Apothecary for a special showcase of the raw sound of London, curated by genre splicing DJ duo Fleshdrive. MC Prince Kongo and DJ/producer Oyinboy head up the line-up, squeezing rave, garage, grime, hip-hop, post-punk and more into their fierce, modernist sound. They're joined by the syncopated Afrobeats of Pontufex Xii, alongside Mr Wize and Yōtei, with a live performance by Cyclone and visual from Simon Black.
