For most, the end of summer signals a time to slow down, for Sacha Robotti – things are just getting started. Following the launch of his new Slothacid label at the end of August with the four-track ‘Welcome To Slothacid’ EP – a record which saw support from the likes of AC Slater, Carl Craig, Claptone, Billy Kenny, Treasure Fingers, Gorgon City and more – Sacha is marking the start of his 25-date “Welcome To Slothacid: An Open-To-Close Trip” North American Tour with the release of an official video for one of the EP’s standout tracks, ‘Forget Tomorrow’.
“We’re happy to premiere the video for “Forget Tomorrow,” which is a track by myself and tau0n that came out on Slothacid recently! The finished product is a visual interpretation, often in slow motion, of our song “Forget Tomorrow” by the director Nick of Green Ivory Films, and it’s edited amazingly. It feels like it’s recorded in a club, but it was actually shot on a disused tennis court where we could go wild with throwing paint around. Hope you enjoy!” – Sacha Robotti
Recorded with L.A duo Tau0n, Forget Tomorrow is a deep, melodic and melancholic house cut with eerie synth work and a gorgeous vocal that takes the track beyond the dance floor and turns it into a real masterpiece of song-writing. The video brings the track to life in every way and perfectly reflects the DIY work ethic that Sacha has approached the Slothacid project with to stunning effect. The deliberate tongue-in-cheek style of the video combines stunning colour, lighting and slow-mo camera work with a real ASMR vibe – all of which are designed to stimulate the senses and get you grooving.
“Videos are a great way to connect with an audience more deeply, and to show more layers to our personalities. Electronic music isn’t always easy listening, for instance there aren’t a lot of vocals in this specific track, so videos are a great way to communicate the intention of a song.” – Scott / tau0n
Almost certain to be heard at his forthcoming shows, the track fits into the “all-night-long” concept of the tour which will see Sacha performing from open-to-close at each venue, giving clubbers a unique opportunity to experience a different side to his sets and get truly lost on a Slothacid journey. With all 25 dates now announced, including Sacha’s biggest show to date in Hollywood at 1439 Ivar Ave on November 22nd, the next three months promise to be a powerful trip of the Slothacid kind.
