On the back of the success of his latest release, “Undertow”, which reached #20 on the Beatport Hype Progressive House chart, Saiful Idris is back with his latest single, this time on his own imprint, SRNDR Records. “Two Birds (Metaphorical Mix)” is the label’s inaugural release, a deep and melodic progressive house track with a lush synth melody that builds to an atmospheric climax, and a perfect release to signal the label’s artistic direction.
Saiful’s productions are inspired by the sounds that brought him into dance music back in the early 2000’s, from the warm, organic, deep and soulful sounds of Osunlade, Francois K and Dennis Ferrer, and more, to the big room, electronic maneuverings of Circulation, John Digweed and Underworld. “Two Birds” typifies this – is a wonderful confluence of his varied musical influences, with elements that cut across the different sub-genres of house and techno music, but all bound by a deep appreciation of the structure and aesthetics of early dance music, and of the old but original school.
