SAINT RAYMOND – I WANT YOU

Saint Raymond is pleased to announce details of his new single ‘I Want You’, which will be released on August 24 through Asylum Records. Furthermore, the 19-year-old is confirmed as main support to Ed Sheeran on his upcoming autumn, UK and European arena tour (full dates below).

2014 has already been an incredible year for the 19-year-old from Nottingham, Callum Burrows aka Saint Raymond. Speaking about the forthcoming single; a heady mix of afro-beat guitar, a hypnotic looping chorus and summer-tinged melodies, Saint Raymond says – “I wrote ‘I Want You’ recently, so not only am I looking forward to releasing it, but also to introducing it to my setlist and performing it live. It is an up-tempo, energetic and summery song so I think it will be a fun moment at festivals.”

Currently in the studio working on his debut album, which is set to release this autumn, Saint Raymond’s been working closely with Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles) honing his signature anthemic sound. Last month it was announced that Saint Raymond would support #1 artist Ed Sheeran on his UK and European, autumn 2014 arena tour after being personally invited by Ed himself. The tour will see Saint Raymond play to a whopping 400,000 people and will include four nights at London’s O2 Arena.

In May this year, Saint Raymond released his Ghosts EP (his third EP release and first on Asylum Records), which peaked at #4 on the iTunes album chart and led to an abundance of radio support. Lead track ‘Everything She Wants’ premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show as ‘Hottest Record’, where Zane stated “You are the latest in a long line of this wonderful lineage of classic British singer songwriters with street edge.” Further radio support came from XFM and Absolute and he also headlined London’s Scala around the release.

In May 2013, Saint Raymond self-released his first EP Escapade where lead track ‘Fall At Your Feet’ was awarded iTunes’ ‘Single of the Week’ and other EP track ‘Letting Go’ was soon after added to the BBC Introducing Playlist. Move forward to autumn 2013 and Saint Raymond was supporting HAIM across Europe, which included two nights at London’s Forum. His follow-up EP Young Blood was released via National Anthem in January 2014. The EP hit #3 on iTunes and in the week of release, he headed to Maida Vale for a Radio 1 Live Lounge where he performed an ethereal version of The Jam’s ‘English Rose’. In March this year, Saint Raymond headed out on a UK headline tour, including sold-out shows at London’s Borderline and Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms.

Already a name on many people’s lips as becoming one of the most exciting, British, breakthrough guitar acts of this year, watch this space for more album news.
