Santiago Garcia Announces Forthcoming Album ‘Signature’

Due for worldwide release on April 24 via his recently launched S/GNATURE record label, the album announcement is accompanied by the release of Santiago’s third album single and debut collaboration with Ukrainian producer AIKON, I Trust The Drums (ft. Aquarius Heaven).

Signature – the eagerly anticipated debut long-player from Argentinian producer, DJ and label head Santiago Garcia – will be released on April 24, 2024 via his very own S/GNATURE imprint. A career-defining moment for the now Ibiza-based artist, the remarkable ten-track opus will mark Santiago’s most extensive and innovative body of work to date and will showcase the inexhaustible creativity of one of the most prolific acts in underground electronic music right now.

Speaking about the forthcoming release of Signature, Santiago commented:

An album diverging focus from the dance floor but meant to dance anyway. There’s no specific genre being aimed for. I wanted to show roots, elements from my culture and the ones I’ve visited in my travels and work. 2 years working on this project, making music in different studios, living rooms, personal spaces around the world with artists I have deep appreciation of.

Following the release of the first two album singles Mundo Superior ft. G.Zamora and Hurt Me (alongside Nandu) in January and February respectively, the announcement of Santiago’s debut album drops alongside the third album single I Trust The Drums – a truly captivating collaboration with Ukrainian artist AIKON (TAU, Renaissance, Eleatics) and ex-reggae, dancehall and hip-hop singer, Aquarius Heaven.

 

Speaking about the new single, Santiago commented:

““I Trust The Drums” emphasizes the essential role of percussion for rhythm and dance, urging trust in them. Incorporating broken and synthesized sounds geared towards larger spaces, while maintaining the permissive and organic essence of my sound, I wanted to showcase my venture and interest in other sound profiles.”

AIKON continued:

“The fashion for the sound of synthesizers for melodies and vocals is always changing. But in our opinion, drums always remain outside the framework, so this one inspires faith in drums and their importance in electronic music.”

Exploring highly experimental soundscapes and deep, polyrhythmic atmospheres, Santiago and AIKON’s uniquely underground treatment across I Trust The Drums is wonderfully dark and hypnotic from the outset. Exhibiting incredible complexity and intricacy across its duration, the two artists capitalise on their collective creative expertise to draw the listener into an absorbing, magnetic construct, as they explore a remarkable array of timbres and rhythms to compliment Aquarius Heaven’s expertly manipulated spoken-word lyrics.

Born and bred in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, Santiago Garcia has been at the forefront of an established wave of artists supplying the deep house and melodic techno traditions since their early inception. Over the course of his esteemed twenty-year career, the Argentinian has nurtured a remarkably intelligent, deliciously challenging sound that finds equal comfort within the international festival and underground, after-hours communities – a multi-faceted sound palette which has seen him entertain crowds from behind some of the most revered DJ booths in the world. Ukrainian producer AIKON has been making waves over the past few years with a steady stream of acclaimed releases on leading labels including Diynamic, TAU, Multinotes, Disco Halal, Exploited & Monaberry. His music is a haunting, hypnotic mix of dark electro, breakbeats and melodic techno, often with a slight twist of a little Italo & acid. Widely considered to be one of the most exciting producers on the circuit right now, his releases are constantly supported by some of the world’s biggest tastemaker DJs, including Solomun, Dixon, Ame, Black Coffee, Sasha, John Digweed, Pete Tong and Keinemusik, to name a few.
