How many times have we heard modern producers ruin classics? ‘Time After Time’ we hear absolutely legendary records destroy our favourite tracks – but this is certainly not one of those. Savi has teamed up with one of the most exciting producers in the electronic music domain Torio to reprise a track that needs little introduction. Resurrected with Kait Weston’s glowing vocal and the production duo’s unlimited talents – it is another success that’s already making a rapid climb up the sales charts.
Kicking off with classy pianos for the intro that automatically make us reminisce Torio’s classics which always send our senses into overload with his incredible melodic abilities. Typically uplifting and expertly arranged melodic synth work set the scene for the incoming drop that we know is going to be a special moment. As the dramatic snare fills, micro edits, filter rushes and crescendo of tension rises – we’re finally given our treat.
Gigantic ripping synths and thumping bass on the drop replace the uplifting melodies and we’re smashed in the face with a barrage of low-end energy and fist-clenching leads that’ll do the damage on any main room that’s in the mood for dancing. Smashing snares on and around the kicks make the impacts even tougher – giving this instant hit an extra layer of power. The energy stops in a heartbeat and we’re once again treated to a second alternate version of the harmonious breakdown with the elegant vocals before being launched back into one last explosion of bass and leads.
The vocals re-recorded are given a new life with Savi & Torio’s magic touch on Kait Weston’s huge talent. Great singers that are given a touch of studio magic by top level producers always results in incredible sounding flows and ‘Time After Time’ does it with perfection. The original vocals were of course timeless – but this new version does the perfect job of making the classic relevant to the 2015 crowd.
