SCNDL – 40 Thieves

Tom Grant and Adam Amuso – or SCNDL as we know them, have been making a stand in Australia with their bouncy and highly-produced releases, which have been catching attention from the likes of Porter Robinson and Dada Life. In a time of a lot of electronic music sounding the same, SCNDL have been giving the popular sounds of Electro and Progressive House their own twist, which is making them stand out from the saturated crowds of producers releasing music in 2014. With their sophomore hit ‘Gypsy’ hitting the Electro House top 15 – the boys from down under announced themselves as serious players when it comes to big main-room focused House music. With many more release following making an international impact with heavyweight support from a bunch of a-listers – SCNDL have well and truly arrived on a global scale.

’40 Thieves’ is all about the bent and swung bass drops, something SCNDL have mastered and found their signature sound in. Their use of abstract timing, off beats and fitting sounds into places that you don’t find in conventional quantized EDM productions gives them a unique sound that’s hard to compare to anyone else – something few can claim. Their production style is a cocktail of big EDM drums, dark and obscure leads and with their signature pulsating bass lines – it’s something different and it’s getting big love all around the world.

With support accumulating from the likes of Tommy Trash, Chuckie, TJR, Tocadisco, Lazy Rich, Henry Fong and MAKJ, the duo ended 2013 with DJs and dance junkies alike craving their refined club getup amid a sustained international bounce blitzkrieg that’s becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
