London promoters MAMA Presents are excited to bring the Scratch Perverts to Hoxton Square Bar on 12th June, featuring psychedelic instrumental hip-hop producer Paul White in support.
The legendary DJ collective continue their series of nights each supported by a host of unique acts. This is the final event in a series that has seen the group supported by the likes of South London’s very own Al Dobson Jr, to Houndstooth Records staple Throwing Snow.
Formed in 1996 by Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts and DJ Renegade, Scratch Perverts have forged a longstanding career in the world of music – winning ITF titles, solo DMC titles plus two World Team DMC titles in their 19 year history.
Their reputation as turntablists has led the Scratch Perverts into a whirlwind career as DJs. As residents at Fabric since the beginning, they showcase a vast knowledge and understanding of music and how it’s meant to be played. Traversing all styles, the Scratch Perverts cross over genre lines with ease in a way that’s pleasing on the ears but similarly entertaining on the eyes.
Paul White started his career producing a unique blend of hip-hop and psychedelia that has been described by The Telegraph as ‘relentlessly entertaining’. His latest work takes on more instrumental sources, and his album of last year ‘Shaker Notes’ was released under notable electronic label R&S Records.
White is also a frequent collaborator, having recently contributed production credits for the likes of Danny Brown, Charlie XCX, as well as Stones Throw signing Homeboy Sandman.
