Billy Kenny - Seahorses EP

UK born DJ and producer Billy Kenny has unveiled his brand new ‘Seahorses’ EP with the production set to drop on his own highly acclaimed label ‘This Ain’t Bristol’, ahead of his eagerly anticipated European tour.

Well versed in the the amalgamation between tech-house, house and techno, the ‘Seahorses’ EP displays Billy Kenny’s signature sonic techniques. The aptly-titled ‘Seahorses’ humorously samples the viral ‘Drinking Out Of Cups’ vocal over a hard-edged bassline for a track sure to become an instant staple in the tech-house scene he’s done so well in. ‘Jump Onna Beat’ features a pitched up eponymous vocal and an incredibly catchy synth riff, whilst ‘Move Like Aliens’ is a cosmic themed after hours floorfiller.

Billy’s ‘This Ain’t Bristol’ label has turned more than a few well respected heads since launching in early 2015, and continues to pump out high quality releases to their ever-growing audience. The brand now hosts successful events, including an official afterparty at LA’s CRSSD festival, hosting stages at Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Forest and Groove Cruise and a showcase at Miami Music Week, with a Fabric room 2 takeover having just been announced for the 15th June.

Unlike many producers on the circuit, Billy has perfected his craft behind the decks. His endless edits, live sampling, looping and unexpected choices of weaponry always make his unique sets one to truly remember for those listening. His selection skills also recently landed him a weekly nationwide radio show on Kiss Fresh.

Having garnered an impressive back-catalogue of productions on Dirtybird, Food Music, and ‘The Hood EP’ on Green Velvet’s Relief Records, the release of the ‘Seahorses EP’ arrives ahead of Billy Kenny’s highly anticipated return to Europe for a spring tour that will see Billy kick things off at Newcastle’s O2 Academy on 9th March, with further dates at London’s Ministry of Sound, and a wealth of German performances across various venues in Hamburg, Herford, and Bremen, rounding things off at Mint Club in Leeds in April. It’s the first part of a four part European tour with further details soon to be announced.
