Seattle DJ & Producer Jesse Leer releases new “Position EP” on November 20th on Colin Dale’s Abstrakt Dance label

Rising Seattle Producer & DJ Jesse Leer returns with a stellar electro infused double’-handed “Position EP” headed up by the title’s bouncy tech groover. Flanked by the breakbeat driven “Friction”, this continues the rich form of Colin Dale’s august Abstrakt Dance label.

“Position”s tuff electro-inspired beats underpin a bouncy sound fx laden trip that swings off kilter to incorporate  bendy electronic sound scapes. Rolling in a darker break beats style “Fiction”’s electro groove is layered with acid squiggles and minimal swinging breaks to liven up any dance floor.

Seattle native DJ/Producer, Jesse Leer likes to take the dance floor on a journey through the land of 4/4 – whether it be through a melodic, minimal groove or rich, bouncy tech. Having featured on c.895’s “The Vortex” and  supported performers like CODES, LondonBridge and Fritz Carlton at some of Seattle’s biggest clubs, Jesse is one of the pied pipers of the scene bringing out all the party crews as Resident of notorious Seattle squad Studio 4/4, behind some of the city’s best parties, and is Resident of the Monkey Loft.

Jesse’s releases are featured on many esteemed West Coast labels including Golf Clap’s Country Club Disco, although his biggest tracks “Swivel” and “Centre Of Pressure” feature on Feral One. His “Missoula” track was big for Music Is 4 Lovers as he continues to evolve his own crisp sound that reflects electro, breaks, and acid. Not one to put a label on his styles,Jesse keeps it eclectic weaving through melodic, minimal grooves to rich, bouncy tech. Inspired by artists such as Detroit’s Terrence Parker, UK band, The Rurals, and many other deep house artists, Jesse loves to channel the raw energy of the early house sounds.

Visionary UK DJ Colin Dale is founder of the Abstrakt Dance who launched in 1994 with the ‘Full Tilt’ EP by ‘Dark Star’, who incidentally is Colin’s brother, Trevor Dale. Originally a vinyl label, Abstract Dance went digital in 2013 and its early vinyl releases are sought after due to their techno rarity.

Notable release include Paul Mitchell’s ‘Camouflage’, the label’s biggest seller to date and their last release, from the ‘Recharge EP’ in which all the tracks got a great response. Other influential releases include Colin Dale’s ‘Guiding Light’ EP with the stand out cut ‘By Any Means Necessary’;  the Detroit-influenced ‘Return EP’ from Jules Dickens and Tactik’s ‘Entering Detroit EP’.

With a career stacked with seminal moments such as his longstanding Kiss FM residency for his Abstrakt Dance Show (16 years) to historic sets at events such as Germany’s first techno festival, Love Parade, the UK’s original raves such as Biology, Sunrise, Energy and Tribal Gathering (now The Warehouse Project) and Rage at Heaven as well as International events such as Dance Valley; Full Moon; Automatik at Rex Club, Paris; Bloc Festival; Dragon Ball and a Special Guest at Paul Van Dyke’s Vandit club and Tresor Club both in Berlin, Colin have covered a lot of ground in house and techno music.

Constantly evolving with regular sets currently for Wiggle, Forbidden Festival, Give Festival, ‘Return To Heaven’, SuperFreq, POW, SOMY Fest, Wildlife AM and D.S.T.P Warehouse parties he’s one of the underground heroes of London’s club scene, known for his creative and genre-blending sets.

One of the first to explore the links between funk, boogie and proto-house, he’s evolved through phases of industrial techno, Detroit techno, acid into the softer tech house sound he spins today. Aside from his DJing, Dale is a fixture of UK dance music, as a former dancer, promoter of legendary parties like Knowledge, artist manager and label owner. As a producer and remixer, his credits range from an early record on Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label, to the EPs he continues to drop on Abstrakt Dance Records today tirelessly pushing his sound into the future. And he’s still radiating across the airwaves on his the revamped ‘Abstrakt Dance Show’,

The “Position EP” from Jesse Leer is out on Abstrakt Dance Records on November 27th via all digital stores. Beatport releases https://www.beatport.com/label/abstrakt-dance-records/33655/releases
