3 years after starting Absence Seizure in partnership with Abe Duque, co-founder Matuss brings the 9th delivery of emotional electronic music named Seizure No. 9.
The Ukranian DJ and Producer, teacher at New York’s Dubspot school, has managed to get her label noticed and respected by the big fishes in the industry and own long-time influences such as Danny Tenaglia with her particular signature of house and techno music with a soulful and melodic approach.
After beginning her career as a dancer, Matuss turned to music and quickly became a rising star in her native country – then moved to New York to pursue the dream further. She launched the Absence Seizure imprint in 2015 alongside International Deejay Gigolo artist Abe Duque, and the label has already been a platform for a number of eight heavy releases to date.
The sound of her latest one, Seizure No. 8, was defined as 'beautifully crafted, cerebral house' by DJ Mag and championed by Mixmag.
For the 9th installment, Matuss continues to deliver deep and soulful techno opening with Whistler, heavyweight bass tones, dubbed out drums and obscure synthesiser transitions before Zoya The Destroyer provides eerie atmospheres, crisp percussion and subtle mid-range motifs which sit on top of a melodic low-end.
On the flip side we have Stranger Things, which sets an ominous tone with murky ambiences and ethereal pads underpinned by a powerful kick, rumbling sub-bass and percolating rhythms to close the release.
Seizure No. 9 is coming out March 9th signed under Absence Seizure.
