With solo careers and experience within the industry stretching over 20 years, Richard Seeley and Andreas Georgiades’ journey to date has seen the pairing release a string of music via the likes of Rekids sub-label REK’D and Tim Sheridan’s Veryverywrongindeed, whilst 2019 also saw the introduction of a new collaborative project in Self Self, launched to explore experimentations in stripped back house music and beyond. Having debuted the project on their new self-titled imprint Self Self Records earlier this year, the duo now heads to Seeley’s Glue Music imprint to deliver three more original cuts in the form of their ‘The Ticket’ EP, accompanied by a slick remix from fabric resident and tech house pioneer Terry Francis.
Title cut ‘The Ticket’ opens proceedings as Seeley and Geogiades unveil a stylish and laid-back minimal journey that fuses bright lead melodies and delicate string interludes, whilst ‘Natta’ introduces tripped out, warping vocals amongst punchy, skipping metallic drum licks. Next up, ‘Rodolfo’ ups the energy as rumbling low end tones and soaring synth lines go to work, before Terry Francis steps up to provide his interpretation of the production as he lays down a series of signature refined percussion arrangements and crisp claps underneath hazy vocals to shape up the package.
Self Self ‘The Ticket’ EP is out on Glue Music on 21stOctober 2019.
