DJ and producer Serge Devant today releases his ‘The Way You Move’ EP on Damian Lazarus’ offshoot label Rebellion. With a completely restructured sound emerging this year through his release ‘Fearing Love’ on Emerald City, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ new label, the NY based veteran has demonstrated his innate and hard-worked production skills and vast knowledge of the techno and house genres and is well on his way to fully complete his transformation into a well-respected member of the electronic music community.

The title track ‘The Way You Move’ serves up a deep and balanced groove perfectly complemented by an ethereal vocal emerging in the first breakdown. The track is a full and rich affair and a master class in sonic soundscaping as every note is as astutely placed in the mix as the next. The Audiofly remix of the title track takes the EP into deeper and darker territory with crisp percussions complementing the reworked vocals. ‘Intentions’ sees a plethora of different sounds, many taken from field recordings from Devant’s recent trip to Thailand. Serge himself notes “you can hear anything from the gong meditation ceremony…to a rusty drain and the sounds of the rainy night in the jungle.” The result is a hypnotic track full of energy with a heavy groove and powerful build that will no doubt contribute to the soundtrack of so many parties this summer.
