SHAB drops new single ‘Skin & Bones’ (Damon Sharpe Remix)
Making a welcome entrance & as Winter in the Northern Hemisphere takes hold, ‘Skin & Bones’ is the emotionally-charged anthem from Persian-American artist, SHAB – who now welcomes GRAMMY & ASCAP award-winning producer Damon Sharpe on remix duties.
As SHAB gears up for her next EP & prepares to close out the year on a high, Damon Sharpe, the revered US producer, songwriter & all round industry figure now delivers his own flip on ‘Skin & Bones’, blending deep emotional roots – with an electrifying electronic edge.
Written in the aftermath of a harrowing moment, when SHAB exited the vocal booth of a studio session with Sharpe – only to be informed by authorities that her partner had been critically injured in a car accident back in Dallas, ‘Skin & Bones’ captures SHAB at her most vulnerable & powerful.
With an agonising, though successful physical recovery still ongoing, SHAB‘s memory of the incident involving her now-husband has gone on to take a more celebratory tone, as if a bullet missed. “This song was born from pain & devastation, but with my guy’s functionality now largely restored, the meaning for me behind ‘Skin & Bones’ has transformed into a celebration of love & life,” says SHAB. “Damon brought something fresh and explosive to this remix – full of energy but still carrying the emotion of the original.”
GRAMMY winning producer & global producer Damon Sharpe, whose credits include Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Pitbull, Alesso, Kelly Rowland & more, said of the track: “‘Skin & Bones’ is a very personal production & song for me. I was there when everything that inspired it unfolded, so helping bring SHAB & Rob’s story to life musically was an emotional journey. The remix arrives just weeks after SHAB’s successful U.S. national tour as the opening act for The Wanted, with standout performances in Miami, Phoenix, Chicago, Las Vegas and New York. With previous single, ‘Lipstick’, recently becoming her first U.S. Top 40 radio hit during August & September 2056, SHAB continues to build her reputation as one of pop’s most captivating new voices.
With her inspiring story, from Iranian refugee to rising pop icon, SHAB continues to use her platform for more than music. She’ll close out 2025 with the release of her full Skin & Bones EP during November 2025, the re-release of a special Christmas single during December & will kick off a media tour leading into her next album & performance tour during early 2026.
