Shamoun drops middle-eastern organic house single “Meso Haus” via Sol Selectas

Sabo‘s record label Sol Selectas drops a Middle-Eastern organic house release by Shamoun, which also features an up-tempo remix by Anatolian Sessions, and an Afro house rework by Valeron.

Shamoun is an American music producer and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Los Angeles, and his style blends intricate musicianship with electronic sounds. He recently made his debut release via Sol Selectas when he featured as part of a three-way collaboration with Sabo and Namito on their track, “Spicy Sumac,” but this time Shamoun showcases his solo talents. He has a passion for Middle-Eastern instruments and a love of techno percussion linking to his birthplace in Detroit.

On remix duty, Valeron is a Greek artist who finds rhythms and instruments from different world cultures, and mixes them with synths and drum machines. He is also inspired by the music of Greek folk law, and regularly collaborates with local musicians. His tracks are often released via his own record labels Bercana Music and Valeron, but he has also featured his tracks and remixes on other respected outlets such as DAYS like NIGHTS, Stil vor Talent, Magician On Duty, Cosmic Awakenings, and MoBlack Records.

The second remix comes from Anatolian Sessions, who’s a Turkish artist with roots in Istanbul. He has an up-tempo take on organic house, which combines powerful synth lines with organic instruments and invigorating percussion. He heads up the highly influential record label Harabe, but has also contributed tracks and remixes to other imprints such as, Pipe & Pochet, Katermukke, and Lump Records.

“Meso Haus” is the original track on the release, and after a suspense building opening with flurries of electro Bağlama strings, it launches into the main groove with flowing percussion and a throbbing bassline. The electro Bağlama is the tracks defining feature, and it grows in intricacy, as it unfolds with the help of sweeping pads and distant vocal textures.

Valeron’s remix of “Meso Haus” adds extra percussion and a fluttering synth line to chunk up the groove, before introducing the electro Bağlama and other elements from the original.

Anatolian Sessions closes the release with his rework, which lifts the tempo and teases the original’s electro Bağlama, while drawing focus to the percussion and pulsating groove of his acid-tinged bassline.

The artwork by Helia Jamali shines ancient cosmic energy onto a Mesopotamian ziggurat temple, adorned by messages of abundance and prosperity, carved into stone.
