Legendary Japanese artist Shinichi Osawa is back with a new single ‘COPY ME’ in collaboration with female singer-songwriter Nao Kawamura and electronic artist / guitarist Anne Futagami out now via Dirtybird Records.
A bodacious follow-up to last year’s FCKNJP EP, ‘COPY ME’ is an electrifying take on underground J-Pop served Dirtybird style. Fueled by big synths, deep vocal cuts, and thick basslines, Osawa’s latest original is a standout with its high-octane energy and relentless rhythms. ‘COPY ME’ is an adventurous showcase of Dirtybird’s far-ranging reach and the resounding impact the label has had on global dance music for nearly two decades.
Shinichi Osawa is a Japanese musician, composer, DJ, and producer. His current projects include the critically-acclaimed Mondo Grosso and orchestral Thousand Tears Orchestra. As a producer/remixer, Osawa has worked with various artists such as Boys Noize, Benny Benassi, Felix the Housecat, Digitalism, Duck Sauce, and more. Osawa is active in a wide range of fields, from creating music for ads, spatial music, anime and soundtracks to producing an analog record-focused music bar. In 2017, he revived his MONDO GROSSO project with a new album Reborn Again and Always Starting New, the first following a 14-year hiatus. Last year, Osawa made his debut on Dirtybird with his FCKNJP EP, which also served as the first original EP under his given name in nearly 15 years.
‘COPY ME’ will be released as a special edition vinyl featuring FCKNJP’s two tracks and a VIP remix of ‘FCKNJP’. Shinichi Osawa invites the flock to stream his new single ‘COPY ME’ out now on all platforms.
