Silque – Tell Me

Sometimes producers find that magic zone where the hits just flow effortlessly out of their studio. Dutch duo Silque are right in that sweet spot right now, returning with the huge new single ‘Tell Me’ — their seventh for STMPD RCRDS.

Following the rowdy sounds of their ‘Savage EP’ in March, the talented twosome show another side to their sound with this sweet piano house anthem. Driven as always by their pleasingly phat beats, the track stomps into life with chunky kicks and loosely shuffling hats before seriously weighty sub bass throbs complete the pulsing rhythm.

A melancholy, pitched-down male vocals arrives atop beautifully sorrowful piano chords in the tense, emotive break, before we switch back to those gently distorted beats, bass and the vocals. The main break yields old skool house snare builds, letting the pianos build to a mighty drop that is both restrained and high on impact. Less is more with this brilliantly simple arrangement, with little needed expect these few key elements.

It’s the sound of summer nights, open-air clubs, festivals, beach raves and pool parties, and it will fit into a huge range of DJs sets effortlessly. This is one of the summer’s big house anthems! With Malaa playing their previous release ‘Blow’in almost every set, this track is likely to find major support too.

Catch Silque at Ushuaïa Ibiza, MysteryLand, Geheime Liefde Festival and Solar Festival in the coming months, with this one sure to be a permanent fixture throughout.

Silque ‘Tell Me’ is released on STMPD RCRDS on Thursday 2 May.
