One of the most exciting female talents on the European techno circuit, Simina Grigoriu has enjoyed another career-defining year, presenting a slew of globally-acclaimed studio offerings to add to her extensive catalogue of quality cuts. Stepping up for her maiden Drumcode release, and to round out a phenomenal 2023, the Berlin-based talent delivers her latest single ‘Flight Tracker’. Out now as part of the label’s fresh A-Sides Vol. 12 Compilation, Simina’s mighty new opus is another masterclass in raw and refined techno that marks a seminal point in her artistic journey.
‘Flight Tracker’ plays with Simina’s trademark light and dark motifs, blending crisp percussive elements with subtle melodic detailing. Characterised by its heady vocal hits, the track is another superb example of Simina’s inexhaustible creativity. Flush with influences from Berlin’s storied club culture, her Drumcode debut is primed for those after-hours moments; synonymous with depth, emotion and above all, danceability.
“I’m absolutely thrilled about this one! Releasing on Drumcode has been a long-standing aspiration – the label is iconic! I’ve known Adam for years, having first met him in Toronto in 2008 and I know how serious he is about his music, his business and what he puts out into the world. So, to have his support on this Drumcode release is the ultimate compliment – validation that I’m heading in the right direction.” – Simina Grigoriu
