Simina Grigoriu Remixes SUDO, KRYOMAN and Horatio’s ‘Astrum’

Simina Grigoriu has already enjoyed a number of career milestones in 2024. Following a mammoth return to We Are The Brave with her two-track ‘The Ceremonialist’ EP in March, as well as a huge performance at London’s E1 alongside Stella Bossi, one of the European techno circuit’s most integral artists has also just celebrated the 100th release on her own Kuukou Records with her globally-acclaimed single ‘Iron Angel’. Returning to her imprint once again, Simina now delivers a stunning remix of SUDO, KRYOMAN and Horatio’s ‘Astrum’.

A snapshot of unbridled dancefloor ecstasy courtesy of the cross-continental collaboration between three glowing talents – Japan’s SUDO, USA’s KRYOMAN and Eastern European maestro Horatio – the original upholds the authentic sensibilities that have become synonymous with Kuukou’s quality output. Operating from sundered soils, the trio manage to offer shades of their own unique characters, bringing them together into one explosive cut.

Released alongside its source material, Simina’s remix guides its counterpart into darker techno waters. Doing what she does best, the Kuukou label head strips it back, locking in a twisted heady DJ tool that’s playable at any time of night. A true master of refined and raw techno bangers, Simina’s interpretation is another peak-time worthy record that’s conducive to the influences of her Berlin home; a euphoric slice of German dance music that represents the very best of her label.

Launched in 2016, Simina’s Kuukou Records has welcomed some of the most esteemed artists in techno, standing as a cornerstone of the underground scene across its 101 releases. Guided by an unyielding passion for sonic exploration and a sharp eye for emerging voices, Grigoriu has propelled the label to the upper echelons of electronic music, making it a rite of passage for many of techno’s leading artists. Built upon the ethos of quality and authenticity, Kuukou’s catalogue honours its roots in Berlin whilst welcoming a plethora of influences from artists across the world.
