There are few happenings that better underscore an artist’s arrival than their debut A State Of Trance performance. At the front end of March, the all-singing, spinnin’ & songwriting kinship of Sue McLaren & Suzanne Chesterton flew those colours high with a showstopping set at ASOT1000.
How though does an act follow up such a landmark moment!? Well, we might have one idea …
Over the last 18 months, Siskin have been smartly stating the case for their unique blend of progressive feels, intimate harmonies, and soul-searching lyrics with an impossible-to-miss string of EPs and singles. Today, the pair open the books on their third extended-player, with the moving melodies of ‘Let Go’.
If there’s one word that truly defines Siskin’s essence, it’s ‘chemistry’, and its indeed chemistry that provides the overarching theme for the duo’s EP series. Following ‘Dopamine’ and ‘Serotonin’, this March, Suzanne and Sue bring us their first touch of ‘Adrenaline’ with ‘Let Go’.
Musically, the track is a coolly unhurried blend of pulsing beats, subtly catchy sub-melodies and languid piano notes. To this release though, the pair add more of a filmic aftertouch, allowing its bassline and percussion to deepen that mood. That, in turn, vividly scene-sets the song’s ‘stronger-together, through good times and bad’ message.
Showing us why they’re the ones to watch in 2023, Siskin enters their debut album year with ‘Let Go’. It’s available from today through all good streaming and sales platforms here: https://blackhole.lnk.to/letgo
