Brazilian DJ Slow Motion lays the groundwork for his debut album on the serene new single ‘How I Feel’, out Friday 5th April on his own label Ref City Records via Empire Dance.
With his debut album Weapons of Peace dropping on 26th April, Slow Motion shows fans what’s in store on lead single and album opener ‘How I Feel’, which sets the tone with a laidback house groove, mellow keys, and a soulful vocal sample. As the first of 15 tracks on Weapons of Peace, ‘How I Feel’ proves that fans of Slow Motion’s textured take on deep house are in for a treat when the full album drops.
Slow Motion’s first big break came in 2016 when he released a remix collaboration of ‘Drinkee’ by Sofi Tukker with Vintage Culture. In April 2020, his remix of Jorja Smith and Maverick Sabre’s hit ‘Slow Down’ was released and has currently amassed over 250+ million streams on Spotify and 100+ million views on YouTube. The remix also reached #1 on Beatport’s Deep House charts and was consistently charting on Spotify’s Global Viral 50. This track creates a perfect blend of his main influences and shows that he continues to innovate without losing his true roots.
2022 saw Slow Motion releasing an official remix for Mindchatter and creating Ref City Records, his own label that showcases his own original material and music from other rising Brazilian electronic artists. In 2023, he had his first U.S. headline tour and his debut album, Weapons of Peace, is due in 2024 on Ref City Records via Empire Dance.
There is still a lot of green grass Slow Motion wants to explore and he will not be stopping any time soon.
