Solarrio Releases New Track “B the 1” – A Fusion of Synthpop and R&B

Solarrio, the multi-talented musician and producer, is set to captivate the music scene once again with his new release titled “B the 1”. The single marks the beginning of Solarrio’s journey into his debut album.

Born David Barenboim in Paris, France, Solarrio’s musical journey has been nothing short of diverse and compelling. Growing up in a family of classical musicians, he defied convention and ventured into the world of rock bands during his school years. A love for hip-hop and freestyle sessions with local rap crews led him to the realm of music production. His dynamic background laid the foundation for his unique sound that seamlessly fuses 80’s synthpop and R&B influences.

Solarrio’s musical odyssey continued with notable milestones. Co-founding Level Eight Entertainment with artist Megaloh in 2003, Solarrio showcased his production prowess by collaborating with rap legend Kurupt for Megaloh’s debut album. This endeavor was followed by the release of the collaborative project “Reim Geschätlich”, which featured prominent figures from the German rap scene. Solarrio’s talents extended beyond Germany as his remix found a place on Lang Lang’s “Dreams of China” (2008 Olympic Games Edition).

With a passion for growth and learning, Solarrio embarked on a journey to Boston, where he studied at Berklee College of Music from 2008 to 2010. Returning to Germany, he left his mark by producing Berlin rap legend Harris’s second album “Der Mann Im Haus” and contributing to Aggro Berlin’s “Halt die Fresse” format. Solarrio’s production skills resonated widely, as he collaborated with Raf Camora on significant records, including “Raf 3.0” and “Hoch 2”.

The year 2014 marked a pivotal moment in Solarrio’s career, as he transitioned to his new identity as Solarrio. Releasing his self-titled EP in 2017 and “Isolate” EP in 2019, Solarrio’s music found its stride, resonating with audiences across the globe. Notably, his singles and collaborations showcased his versatility, culminating in the release of his two breakthrough tracks in early 2020: “On my mind” featuring Nigerian songstress Niniola, and “Started this Yet”.

Now, Solarrio is poised to embark on a new chapter with his upcoming debut album. “B the 1”, the album’s first single, is a testament to Solarrio’s international appeal. Co-written with Alhassan Sakho in Berlin, the single’s production journey spanned continents. From Zurich to Los Angeles, Solarrio collaborated with Pedro Vito for vocals and Lenka Shockley for background vocals. The song’s sonic landscape was expertly shaped through mixing by Seb Sternberg in Denmark and mastering by Eric Boulanger in LA.

Thematically, “B the 1” explores the universal quest for love and connection. Solarrio shares, “The song is about looking for love and wondering if that person is the one for you. What are you looking for in a partner? Also, a recurring theme on the album.” This introspective exploration is a hallmark of Solarrio’s music, inviting listeners to reflect on their own experiences.
