Hot on the heels of their re-work of 80’s anthem ‘Work Your Body’, New Yorkers Solidisco are back and this time collaborating with Italian duo Fireflowerz, to drop a slice of pure disco groove in the shape of ‘Unreal’, out now via Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records imprint.
Listening to any Solidisco or Fireflowerz track it’s clear both acts have a deep-set interest in French house, and ‘Unreal’ is completely on point. A sleek bass line gives the body to an irresistibly propulsive combination of funky synths and groove-laden vocals, truly bringing disco into the 21st century.
Both acts are purveyors of music that revitalise the classic house sound with todays musical trends, an ethos which has brought them to the attention of major dance music tastemakers. Solidisco have played club nights alongside heavyweights such as Steve Aoki and Diplo, as well as having their records supported by Laidback Luke and A-Trak, plus airplay on BBC Radio 1. Fireflowerz list of support reads as a who’s who of world class DJ’s and producers, backed by Madeon and Major Lazer amongst others, and having already played at legendary Ibiza venues Es Vive and Sands, both acts are set for success.
