Solomon Grey – Miradors

Electronic duo Solomon Grey have announced their debut EP ‘Miradors, premiering a brand new track today ahead of its full release early 2015.

The EP follows acclaimed singles ‘Gen V’ and ‘Firechild’, released last year through Black Butter, and this summer’s pop masterpiece ‘Electric Baby’. Solomon Grey also feature on the dance floor ready Lane 8 single ‘Diamonds’, which comes out via Anjunadeep on 17th November.

‘Miradors’ is a captivating introduction to the new EP. Driven by domineering synths and a forceful beat, the track is balanced by soothing falsetto vocals, punctuated by glimmers of staccato strings. Written in isolation in the Australian outback, the song is packed with contemplative nostalgia. In their own words it was inspired by having the time to reflect on “everything – your childhood, relationships, mistakes, everything.”

Developed alongside Google, Semi Permanent and acclaimed director Steve Ayson, ‘Electric Baby’ will be among the first piece to be exhibited on The Cube. Watch it here.

The band’s Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson are no strangers to collaboration, having previously composed music for the like of the BBC, Sky and HBO. The duo have become renowned for their unique mix of conventional classical composition with contemporary production that is distinctly Solomon Grey on first listen. This is none more evident that on BFI funded feature film ‘Gozo’ – a psychedelic ghost story set for release in early 2015. Watch the trailer here.

To mark the release of ‘Miradors’, Solomon Grey will play a special headline show in London on 20th November at a secret venue, yet to be announced. Their euphoric live performances as a five-piece band have wowed audiences over the last year at a number of sold out London shows and appearances at The Great Escape and Latitude and are not to be missed.
