The latest offering from Size’s sister label X is a two track EP from British DJ and producer Sonny Wharton. His new ‘Trident EP’ will be released exclusively on Beatport for two weeks from June 22nd 2015.
The title track is a powerful roller, driven by a pulsating bassline and filled with synths and tech bleeps. ‘Go Get It’ builds via percussion into a pumping record with heavy subs, topped by intermittent vocals accentuating the climatic drops.
A regular artist on Brighton-based Skint Records and with releases on the likes of Size, Toolroom, Spinnin’ and Material, Sonny also runs his own successful label Whartone Records, which recently celebrated its 5th birthday with an album of re-edits by Sonny himself of releases both past and present.
Having received support from the likes of Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong via releases like 2013’s ‘Raindance’ and last years ‘Pandemonium’, Sonny is steadily growing in stature within house and techno. 2015 looks set to build on these strong foundations, starting with the Trident EP.
