The countdown to Croatia's unmissable house and techno mecca is well and truly on, with just under two months to go until Sonus Festival 2017. From August 20-24th the biggest international names in house and techno will descend on Pag Island, Croatia for five days and five nights of sun, sea, and unforgettable music. The crew have pulled out all the stops for their biggest line-up to date, with Solomun, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Maceo Plex, Len Faki, Adam Beyer, Jackmaster, tINI, Sonja Moonear and many many more heading to Zcre Beach this summer. Sonus Festival are pleased to finally announce the day splits, takeovers and after hours sessions.
From Sunday through Thursday the jam packed schedule sees Papaya, Kalypso and Aquarius taken over by world class artists from the likes of Pan-Pot, Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, alongside local legends such as Felver, Marina Karamarko and Mariano Mateljan – plus the infamous after hours parties, where dancers can really let loose.
Sunday starts the festivities with a bang, as Apollonia show their capabilities with an all day long set in Papaya, whilst Glasweigian party starter Jackmaster, and Len Faki take control of the vibes in the other two venues. Sonus' UK partner Junction 2, have a Monday evening takeover, bringing together Drumcode boss Adam Beyer, label mates Dense & Pika, and a very special live show from Detroit double team Floorplan aka Robert Hood and Lyric Hood live for a night of hands in the air moments galore. Any fans who made it to Junction 2 earlier this month can testify that this team know how to throw a party!
Rolling into day three, as well as a PlayDifferently session with head honcho Richie Hawtin and Japanese affiliate Hito, there are still some artists to be added – keep eyes peeled for further announcements here… B2B sets from Tuskegee crew Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothersare sure to keep feet moving with groove tipped house throughout the evening, Magda will also join. This extended showcase is one of the many incredible, exclusive sets taking place across the festival as part of the fifth anniversary.
Sonus' penultimate day sees Italian techno master Joseph Capriati bring his 100% JC show to Sonus, where party goers can soak up the sun and sound surrounded by stunning settings of Zcre Beach. On top of this the Sunwaves team touch down, representing the minimal sounds of Romania with the enigmatic Raresh, Rhadoo, and Dan Andrei bringing their signature vibes to Kalypso.
Rounding off the fifth birthday celebrations there is a huge roster of talent including takeovers from Movement Croatia Festival – with Sven Väth, Dorian Paic, Joseph Capriati and Luigi Madonna all representing.
Sonus are also pleased to be welcoming back the FUSE family back, for a lively after hours party on Tuesday night with full team on board: Enzo Siragusa, Archie Hamilton, and local talent Mariano Mateljan. For Friday’s afters, Club der Visionäre are set to take punters on a cosmic exploration with eclectic selectors Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Moonear, Margerat Dygas andBinh. This marks the first time the infamous club has partnered with a festival, and its set to be huge! Anyone who has visited the festival before will know that the real magic happens at the final afters: extended sets, a few surprises, and a party lasting across 24hours – not to be missed.
On top of all of this, there are daily boat parties setting sail for Adriatic adventures – intimate parties with some of the biggest artists from the worlds of house and techno for those lucky ticket holders. Keep on Dancing, XLR8R, tINI & The Gang, Jesus Loved You and Trax will all be on hosting duties this year, and their line-ups don't disappoint (see details below).
